We went on a school trip last month and I bought some funny souvenirs at a gift shop. We visited a gold mine in Ontario. It was really fantastic! They gave us some special outfits, helmets and torches. Then we went underground. Some people were really scared! One of my friends was too sick to go below the surface so one of the teachers had to stay with him. The rest of us could wander through the tunnels for an hour. You could see some veins of gold on the walls. I thought to myself, what a pity I can"t have any gold of my own. It would be nice to have some bullion bars and keep them secret but sometimes show them to a couple of friends just to make them a bit jealous. When we returned to the surface, the guide showed us some old machinery which was used in the mine over a hundred years ago. After that, we had lunch and then visited a gift shop. They were selling small bullion bars there, but to be honest, I didn"t have enough money with me to buy one. But there were also some fake bars and I must say they looked really authentic! I bought some and put them in my bag. My dad is making a family party next Saturday and some cousins are going to visit us. Do you know what I"m going to do? I"m going to tell them these are real bullion bars, of course. They won"t even think I"m having them in.
