Highway Code is a very important manual that every driver has to know. Its main goal is to maintain road safety and to set understandable rules. It contains around three hundred rules and regulates the behavior of drivers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and even... animals. In United Kingdom the first edition of a highway code was introduced in 1931. If every driver applied to this manual, there would be no car accidents whatsoever. Or at least that is what they are teaching us while we are preparing for a theory test. Certain points from the highway code are transformed into the questions used later in the test. I believe that is the main goal of people preparing theory test. They have to make sure that every young driver who has successfully passed the test is going to be a safe, responsible driver in the future. If you take a closer look at the content of the test you will see that it is completely based on the highway code. By passing the theory test you guaranty, at the same time, that you know the code very well and understand how you are supposed to drive safely and be a responsible driver taking care of others on the streets.
